Underneath this little blossom's bonnet are holes in her head to shake powder out. It apparently, or is thought to have come with powder inside and has no place to refill. She has her original pink dress. She cost too much but like I keep telling you... it's the one chance I have for guilt free shopping. 6 1/2" tall whatever that is in English. 18cm ish?
Actually I'm feeling a little bit guilty.

I was rootin' around in your blog and found this little honey -- my grandma had one of these when I was little, except the dress was yellow. I don't think there were holes in her head for powder to shake through, though. I always wanted the little thing, but she always said "No!" This was way back in the early '50s.
Grammie was born in 1876, which still blows me away -- both side of my family have long, long generations because it seems like a trend to have waited until age 30 to get married. Don't know why I'm telling you this, except that the little doll really sparked some memories for me, and I've been dwelling in the family history a lot in these past few weeks, anyway.
by the way, I had a lot of fun reading some of your posts and seeing your needlwork. I LOVE needlework, which is why I was lingering within your blog. So much fun!
